Earlier on Wednesday, a Sunni Arab journalist with links to a hard-line school of Sunni Islam was killed with his 17-year-old son in a drive-by shooting nearby.

The killings in the northwestern Shuala district occurred on another day of widespread violence in Baghdad, with at least 24 people killed in seven car bombings and several shootings, the police said. Also, four men were found dead, shot in the head, blindfolded and with their hands tied, in a lot in Doura, a district southwest of Baghdad."
